Description
EZ-Packs are the building blocks of our high performance DIY batteries. Each EZ-Pack can be loaded with fifteen 26650 Lithium cells. The cell contacts inside each EZ-Pack are made from .063” 1100 series (electrical grade) pure aluminum and nickel plated. There is a unique laser cut pattern around each contact spot which allows a small but powerful spring to push the contact firmly against every cell terminal to account for manufacturing tolerance in battery length. The contact has a current capacity that will support a 30C discharge rate in service. Though a single pack can be used for a low voltage applications, typically they are wired in series to build batteries of higher voltage. With LFP cells we use a voltage multiplier of 3.2 – 3.3v per pack.
An EZ-Pack looks a bit like a pair of “Lego” blocks placed back to back. There is a pattern of 15 bosses on each side that serve for pack spacing and mounting points, which makes it simple to assemble groups of EZ-Packs into a monolithic battery the size you want. Just use our “Stackers” or make your own. See the hole pattern and spacing drawing for details.
There are four optional terminal arrangements that facilitate parallel and series connections between EZ-Packs. Please refer to the pics for suggested layouts.
An EZ-Pack contains a lot of energy. Because the voltage is low, shock hazard through skin contact is also low, but short circuit spark and fire hazard are always present should carelessness, mishandling or damaging impact occur. Please read and understand completely our battery safety pages before proceeding to assemble and use the EZ-Pack. The user assumes responsibility for any liability that may occur due to the use or misuse of this product.
